Are Tolls Tax Deductible?

โœ“ Yes, it's deductible
Tolls incurred while driving for business are deductible. Unlike parking (which is also deductible), tolls are deductible on TOP of the standard mileage rate. So if you use the 70ยข/mile rate, you can still deduct tolls and parking separately.

How it works

Tolls are deductible regardless of which vehicle expense method you use:

This includes highway tolls, bridge tolls, tunnel tolls, and E-ZPass/FastTrak charges for business trips.

Commuting tolls

Tolls on your daily commute to a regular workplace are NOT deductible. They're personal commuting costs. Tolls while driving to a client site, temporary work location, or between business locations ARE deductible.

IRS Reference
See IRS Publication 463, Chapter 4. Tolls and parking are deductible separately from the standard mileage rate. Report on Schedule C, Line 9.
