How it works
Tolls are deductible regardless of which vehicle expense method you use:
- Standard mileage rate: Deduct tolls AND the mileage rate. They're separate.
- Actual expenses: Tolls are included in your total vehicle expenses, multiplied by business-use percentage.
This includes highway tolls, bridge tolls, tunnel tolls, and E-ZPass/FastTrak charges for business trips.
Commuting tolls
Tolls on your daily commute to a regular workplace are NOT deductible. They're personal commuting costs. Tolls while driving to a client site, temporary work location, or between business locations ARE deductible.
