Can I really use hivebooks for free?
Yes. The free plan includes one entity with unlimited transactions, CSV import, and basic reports. No credit card required, no time limit. It's free forever.
What counts as an "entity"?
An entity is any business, LLC, rental property, or side hustle with its own set of books. If you run one freelance business, that's one entity. If you also have rental properties under a separate LLC, that's two.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Upgrade instantly and your new features activate immediately. Downgrade at any time and you'll keep your current plan through the end of the billing period. Your data is never deleted.
What is Buzz?
Buzz is hivebooks' AI assistant. Ask it questions about your books in plain English: "Is this a repair or capital improvement?", "Do I need to send this contractor a 1099?", "Can I deduct my home office?" Buzz explains the answer and the reasoning behind it.
How does bank syncing work?
We use Plaid, the same service used by Venmo, Robinhood, and most major fintech apps, to securely connect to your bank. Transactions import automatically. Your credentials are never stored on our servers.
Is my data secure?
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your financial data with third parties. You can export or delete your data at any time.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Toggle to annual billing at the top of this page to save 20% on any paid plan. Annual plans are billed once per year.
Is there a free trial?
Every new account starts with a 14-day free Pro trial — no credit card required. After 14 days, you can upgrade to keep Pro features or switch to the free plan with no time limit.
